Under Decision No. 21/2026/QĐ-TTg, Vietnam has identified 10 strategic technology groups, including high-speed rail and urban railway technology. This sector is considered particularly important to the development of new industries, strengthening national competitiveness and enhancing self-reliance in key infrastructure.

Beyond transportation, high-speed railway technology represents an integrated technological ecosystem encompassing infrastructure, equipment, operations and related technologies. With strong spillover potential across multiple industries, it opens up new opportunities for the development of Vietnam’s railway industry.

The inclusion of high-speed and urban railway technologies among strategic technologies also creates significant opportunities for R&D and technology localization, enabling Vietnamese enterprises to participate more deeply in the railway supply chain. VRT&CON’ 2026 will provide a valuable platform for domestic businesses to showcase their capabilities, connect with partners and advance railway technology development.
